I have noticed though when in Sport or Sport+ it struggles for traction from a standing start. The wheels spin and make a lot of noise
That's what you'll get in any two wheel drive car putting that much power down., especially if it's damp or temperatures are cool and you're on summer tyres.
The art is applying the power increase smoothly so that as the car starts moving you apply more power.
Heck, I can get my wife's 85bhp Micra to spin the wheels from a standing start if the road is damp.

My 84bhp Smart turbo will almost always spin its driven wheels at a specific local junction ..... even in the dry! ;) and I can't even turn the traction control off, even if I wanted to :)

I love the asymmetric
So fitted with

255/35R19 96Y XL
285/30R19 98Y XL

Camskill have the GY Assy 6 in both sizes
6's, they are my go to tyre on my track cars, in the wet there increasable on track and on the road, they also stand up really well in the dry on track.

My Megane R26 is running 405hp through the front wheels
My mate is running 500hp i his 250 Megane on asymmetric 6's

Did what fall off ?

You can spin any tyres in the wet. I can spin my rear bike tyre on a steep climb, using my feeble 250 watts.
I think he was asking if the moggy had fallen off a cliff or something to get to that speed :p:D

For the wheels to spin on any moggy they would have to have fallen off....

Guys.. do some people have 20 inch rims on the back and 19 on the front?

Also do some people have different tyres on the back than the front?

I am learning.

I would suggest the same size all round (Diameter wise).

Tyres should be matched on an axle, different front and rear is fine although I wouldn't put Directional front and Assymetric rear as the water dispersion characteristics of directional can disrupt Assy tyres.

Ideally you would have the same brand / model all round.

Hi

I only got my SL 500 on Monday.. its a 2016 facelift model. On my drive home which was 4h of motorway I put my foot down a couple times in comfort mode and one time where i put it down all the way quickly the back wheels slide sideays a bit, i released in panic then the car locked straight immediately but it shook me a little to actually put the pedal to the floor.

In Sport or Sport+ I haven't even dared to put the "pedal to the metal" yet. I have done this before in a 2020 C63s and a 2023 BMW M4 and it was fine... but both are 4WD.

Can somebody here who has or does do that give me some advice?

Thanks in advance

Try the Vdoz then even good tyres, stamp on the gas from standstill , back end fishtail in grand style. Took me a while to calm down 1st time it happened.

Can somebody tell me can you actually rev this car while stationary? It only goes to around 4000RPM in my SL 500.
Many cars have a lower rev. limit when stationary and not in gear. When in gear the rev. limit is governed by the torque convertor, usually around 3000rpm, on a multi-clutch gearbox this is governed electronically.
